WPD Technical and Commercial Integration of Multi-Microgrids
The integration of several Microgrids in MV operation needs then to be carefully investigated in terms of electrical interactions, considering the operational and physical restrictions of these active cells, either in terms of normal steady state operation or for emergency conditions. The objectives of this WP are therefore the following:
- Define the possible operational architectures of MV multiMicrogrids and its requirements in normal and emergency conditions;
- Analyze the interaction of the Microgrid Central Controllers (MGCC) of each LV Microgrid with existing DMS tools, to improve network operating conditions;
- Define adaptation and enhancement of existing DMS functionalities and tools, namely regarding coordinated voltage control and local state estimation in MV distribution networks, having in mind the introduction of an intermediate management control agent - the CAMC;
- Evaluate the possibility of having Microgrids participating in frequency control in either interconnected mode or during emergency conditions where islanding will be allowed;
- Investigate and develop effective control strategies and procedures to deal with emergency operation (islanding and black-start assuming a default occurred upstream in the network
