Work Package C : "Development
of MicroGrid Central Controller"
Work Package Leader
: ICCS
Partners involved :
EDF, PPC, SMA,
INECS, ISET, ARMINES, LABEIN, EPRI
Objectives :
During the
grid connected mode, the Micro Grid Central Controller must optimize the
local production capabilities. To perform this, the MicroGrid Central
Controller considers the interactions of the local Micro source Controllers,
the Micro Grid Central Controller and the Distribution Management System.
The MicroGrid Controller uses information on local electrical and heating
needs, electricity and gas costs, wholesale/retail service needs, special
grid needs, demand-side management requests, congestion levels, etc. to
determine the amount of power that the MicroGrid should draw from the
distribution system.
The MicroGrid
Controller will collect information from the micro sources and critical
loads and will automatically perform operations management of the MicroGrid
including its mode of operation (autonomous/non-autonomous) exploiting
the capabilities of these sources and loads, namely the controllability
aspects, since also some loads are not controllable. Coordination with
the central DMS system must also be considered.
